What does a bath mat have to do with The Great Barrier Reef?
Great question! At Quikmat, we strive to be as environmentally conscious as possible to help protect Australia and the planet we call home. And what better inspiration for us than the natural wonder, The Great Barrier Reef in our own backyard?
The design of Quikmat draws upon three major aspects of the reef. Its magnificent resilience in the face of climate change, how it protects and conserves our coastlines and in maintaining the ocean's biodiversity.
We believe that these should parallel the experience you gain from using Quikmat. Our bathmats are created with durability and longevity in mind. By not needing to wash and replace it as often as traditional bath mats, you're helping to conserve our previous water. And finally, it should have plenty of essential features like non-shedding and attributes to be worthy of being inside your bathroom.
Conserving the Great Barrier Reef - One coral at a time
The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most spectacular icons of the natural world with rich and complex natural ecosystems. It’s home to thousands of species of marine life including fish, dolphins and six of the world’s seven species of marine turtle.
The accumulated impacts of climate change, poor water quality and crown of thorns starfish outbreaks are having a dramatic and dire effect on the state of our Reef.
The Great Barrier Reef Foundation is a non-profit organisation focused on the conservation and protection of the Great Barrier Reef. The foundation's mission is to ensure the long-term health and sustainability of the reef's ecosystems.
